Ayodhya: A massive explosion occurred on Thursday evening in Paglabhari village, under the Purakalandar police station area of Ayodhya, completely destroying a two-story house.
The accident occurred when illegal firecracker manufacturing was underway at the home of local resident Ramkumar Kasaudhan, also known as Parasnath.
Five people, including Ramkumar and his three children, died on the spot, while two others are feared trapped under the debris. Police, fire brigade, and administrative teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations.
Debris is being removed with the help of a JCB, and the site has been completely sealed.

Prima facie, an LPG cylinder explosion is suspected, as an exploded cylinder has been recovered from the debris. However, police investigations have also revealed that an illegal firecracker factory was operating in the house, and a large amount of gunpowder was stored, which contributed to the powerful explosion.
It's worth noting that last year, an explosion occurred in this same house, killing Ramkumar's wife and mother. Despite this, Ramkumar continued with the illegal firecracker manufacturing operation. This negligence claimed his life and that of his children this time.
The blast was so powerful that the sound was heard half a kilometer away, and pieces of debris were scattered as far as 100 meters. Cracks appeared in the walls of several nearby houses.
Bikapur explosion causes panic
Locals reported that some people were still breathing when rescue operations began, but they had died by the time they reached the hospital.
SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover and the District Magistrate have arrived at the scene. The entire area has been evacuated, and the NDRF, fire department, and police are engaged in relief operations.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the incident and ordered strict action. He has instructed officials to monitor the situation minute by minute and has also called a high-level meeting.

This accident has once again raised the question of why illegal firecracker manufacturing is not being curbed. The administration must take strict action against such activities to prevent such fatal incidents in the future.
