Saharanpur: A controversy has erupted in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur after authorities demolished a mosque structure, citing a court order. Heavy police deployment was seen in the area to maintain law and order during the action.

Iqra Hasan Raises Questions Over Action

Samajwadi Party MP from Kairana, Iqra Hasan, questioned the administration’s move and alleged that she was placed under house arrest when she tried to visit the affected area. She claimed that the concerned people were not given enough time to pursue further legal options.

The MP said that every affected party should get a fair opportunity to present its side and raised concerns over the manner in which the action was carried out.

Officials Cite Court Order

The administration maintained that the demolition was carried out in compliance with judicial directions. Officials said the security arrangements were made as a precautionary measure and the entire process was conducted according to legal procedures.

Security Tightened After Demolition

Following the demolition, police continued monitoring the situation in the area. Authorities appealed to residents to maintain peace and avoid spreading rumours.

The issue has also triggered political reactions, with opposition leaders questioning the action while the administration defended it as enforcement of a court order.
