New Delhi: Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has leveled serious allegations of corruption against the BJP government. He said that if an officer close to them has amassed illegal assets worth 100 crore rupees, then how much wealth would the high-ranking officials of the government possess?

Akhilesh Yadav termed the BJP government a den of corruption.

CO Rishikant Shukla suspended

CO Rishikant Shukla's name surfaced during the investigation into the case of prominent lawyer Akhilesh Dubey, who is currently in jail in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is accused of accumulating crores of rupees in assets with the help of Akhilesh Dubey.

The government suspended him late Monday night and handed over the investigation to the Vigilance Department. Shukla had been posted in various positions in Kanpur for about 15 years and was currently serving as the CO of Bhogaon in the Mainpuri district.

Nexus between Akhilesh Dubey and police officers

Akhilesh Dubey is accused of extorting money from people by filing false POCSO cases. After his arrest, the police also started investigating other officers associated with him. Five police officers, including three COs, came under investigation. One close inspector has already been sent to jail, while action is likely to be taken against another officer, potentially leading to his dismissal.
