Samajwadi Party expels MLA Pooja Pal for praising CM Yogi’s policies in UP Assembly, citing “justice received” in husband’s murder case. Akhilesh takes stern action amid SP-BJP rivalry. Case highlights clash between personal gratitude and party loyalty in Indian politics. Next move awaited.
Pooja Pal Expelled by SP Supremo Akhilesh Yadav
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Pooja Pal has been expelled from the party. This decision was taken when she openly praised the policies of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav got angry with this move of hers, and he immediately ordered to expel Pooja Pal from the party.
Praising Yogi in the assembly worsened the situation.
Pooja Pal praised Yogi Adityanath's policies during the discussion on "Vision Document 2047" in the UP Assembly and said, "Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has implemented zero tolerance policies, due to which many women like me have gotten justice. Criminals like Atiq Ahmed were killed because of him."
She also said that when no one was listening to her voice, Yogi Adityanath got her justice.
Personal struggle of Pooja Pal
Pooja Pal's husband, Raju Pal, was murdered in 2005. Raju Pal became MLA by defeating Atiq Ahmed's brother Ashraf in the 2004 assembly elections. Due to this political rivalry, Atiq Ahmed's henchmen killed him. After this, Pooja Pal fought against Atiq Ahmed for a long time, and when she got justice from the Yogi government, she praised the CM.
SP's tough stand
The Samajwadi Party and BJP have had a fierce political rivalry for a long time. In such a situation, Pooja Pal praising Yogi Adityanath was unbearable for the party. Akhilesh Yadav immediately decided to expel her from the party.
Personal struggle and party line in politics
Pooja Pal's case shows how there can be a conflict between personal experience and political loyalty. She appreciated the justice she got from the Yogi government in her personal struggle, but she had to pay the price of going against the party line in the form of expulsion. Now it remains to be seen whether she joins the BJP or continues politics independently.
