Lucknow: The activities have intensified regarding the assembly elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh in 2027. In this episode, the Congress called an important meeting in Lucknow on Tuesday regarding the preparations for the 2027 assembly elections. This meeting was for the districts of the Purvanchal zone and was held to review the organization creation campaign.

Where was the meeting held?

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, the meeting was organized in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, in which the organization heads of 13 districts, including Siddharthnagar, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Deoria, Ballia, and Ambedkar Nagar of Purvanchal, participated.

Why was the meeting held?

The Congress has been out of power in Uttar Pradesh for a long time. The party has not received any major mandate since 1989. In 2022, the party was able to win only 2 seats. Learning from this defeat, the Congress is now strengthening its organizational roots so that the ground can be prepared for returning to power in 2027.

It was decided in the meeting that by the end of July, Congress committees will be formed at every block and booth level. The party has made it clear that now tickets will be given only to those workers who are continuously active on the ground and are included in the recommendation of the district organization.

State President Ajay Rai and National General Secretary Avinash Pandey said bluntly that "tickets and responsibilities will be given to those who work." The district unit is now being made the backbone of the strategy.

What will be new?

This time Congress is going to prominently include local issues in its election manifesto. Topics like youth, women, farmers, and employment will be added according to the needs of each district. Overall, the Congress has made preparations to build an organization from foundation to roof. The question is whether this strategy will be able to shake the strong fort of BJP and SP.
