Agra: The Agra Airport Authority received a bomb threat on mail, it said that not only Agra but many other airports in the country would be targeted. The mail also mentioned that powerful explosives have been hidden in backpacks around the airport premises and warned to vacate the building immediately, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

As soon as the threatening mail was received, the security agencies immediately swung into action and the airport was immediately evacuated. The bomb squad and dog squad conducted a thorough search of the entire premises, but no suspicious object has been recovered yet. Still, giving priority to security, the entire airport area has been put on high alert. Security agencies and police force have increased surveillance at every nook and corner and passengers are being thoroughly checked.
A case has been registered at Shahganj police station on the complaint of Chief Security Officer Sukirti Nigam. The FIR also includes the names of the email senders—'Roadkill' and 'Kyo'—who have taken responsibility for this attack. This mail was sent from the email address roadkillandkyokill@atomicmail.io, which the cyber cell team is now trying to trace.
Police and intelligence agencies have started investigating these suspicious names and mail IDs.
DCP City Sonam Kumar informed that this is a serious matter and all necessary steps are being taken giving priority to security arrangements. He said that the investigation is still going on and initially no explosive material has been found, but cyber experts are engaged in finding the location and identity of the mail senders. The DCP also assured that soon the culprits will be in police custody and strict action will be taken against them.
Earlier this month on 13 June an Air India flight from Phuket, a Thailand resort island, to Delhi requested an emergency landing due to a bomb threat.
Air India flight AI379 was going from Phuket to Delhi when it received a bomb threat. After this, the plane had to make an emergency landing in Phuket. The identity of the person who made the threat is yet to be ascertained. This incident happened a day after the Ahmedabad air crash.
The 156 passengers on this flight were evacuated safely. The plane landed back at Phuket airport after circling over the Andaman Sea. No information has been received yet about the person who made the threat.
