According to the information, four teenagers of Akbara of Sikandra police station area had come to bathe in Yamuna on Sunday afternoon. While bathing, all four teenagers went into deep water, causing panic. The local people showed promptness and took out two children safely, but two teenagers drowned in deep water, whose search is going on.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police and administration reached the spot. Teams are running rescue operations on the spot.

DCP City Sonam Kumar himself reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The teams are fully alert, with the help of divers, efforts are being made to find the children as soon as possible.

Last month on 21 May, a similar incident occurred in Gorakhpur district, when two people died by drowing in Rapti river in Badhalganj area.
