Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has secured investment proposals worth nearly ₹1 lakh crore from Singapore-based companies during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s official visit to the Southeast Asian nation.
According to the state government, agreements and discussions held during the two-day engagement resulted in Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately ₹60,000 crore. The visit is aimed at strengthening economic partnerships and attracting global investments into the state’s key sectors.
The Chief Minister is on an official trip to Singapore from February 22 to 24 to deepen cooperation in trade, infrastructure, technology and industrial development.
During the visit, he interacted with industry leaders and corporate representatives to present Uttar Pradesh as a major investment destination. Officials said the discussions also focused on building long-term partnerships and boosting investor confidence.
Adityanath also visited a globally recognised skill development centre in Singapore to study workforce training models. The Uttar Pradesh government is exploring the possibility of implementing similar employment-oriented training systems in the state.
A significant development during the visit was an investment agreement in the aviation sector linked to the upcoming Noida International Airport. Aviation services company AISATS signed an MoU with the Uttar Pradesh government to invest around ₹4,458 crore in airport infrastructure.
The project includes the development of a modern cargo terminal and a large air catering facility. The catering unit is expected to serve flights operating from Jewar airport and supply meals to other airports across North India, helping establish the region as an aviation services hub.
During the visit, discussions were also held with senior leadership of SATS Ltd to develop a world-class cargo complex at the airport and establish a Taj SATS air catering kitchen.
The Chief Minister also interacted with representatives from ST Telemedia Global Data Centres to explore opportunities in hyperscale data centres and digital infrastructure.
