UP: Two miscreants arrested after getting injured in encounter in Mainpuri; Details here

Mainpuri: Two wanted criminals were injured and arrested in an encounter with the police in Mainpuri late last night, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

According to the post on X of Mainpuri Police, this joint operation was conducted by the local police station (Thana Elav) and the criminal intelligence team. The arrested persons have been identified as Bhanu Gihar and Munna, also known by the nickname Munna, both have a criminal record.

Mainpuri Police Statement

Mainpuri police wrote, "In a joint operation conducted by police station Elav and criminal intelligence team, two notorious accused - Bhanu Gihar and Munne alias Munna - were injured during a police encounter and were arrested. From their possession, police recovered one country-made pistol (.315 bore), one country-made pistol (12 bore), two live and six empty cartridges, and a motorcycle without number plate."

Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh said that 20 cases are registered against Bhanu in various districts. 6 cases are registered against Munna.

Asst SP Statement

On June 27, an accused under the Uttar Pradesh Gau Slaughter Prevention (Amendment) Act, 2020, was injured in an encounter with the Revati police, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kripa Shankar said. ASP Kripa Shankar, Ballia said that the police were conducting routine checking when the accused was trying to escape and was fired upon.

ASP Shankar said, "In Ballia, Revati police station was conducting a checking. During the checking, when a man riding a motorcycle was asked to stop, instead of stopping, he tried to flee. The police chased him and surrounded him. He fired at the police officers, and in self-defence, the police also fired at him.

The ASP said, "The goon has been identified as Vishal. On interrogation, it was revealed that he was an accused under the Uttar Pradesh Gau Slaughter Prevention Act. On interrogation, the police came to know that his name is Vishal and he is a wanted accused under the Uttar Pradesh Gau Slaughter Prevention Act," the police officer said.

Miscreants To Hospital

The injured miscreants have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. This action was taken by the team of Elao police station in-charge Avnish Kumar Tyagi and Criminal Intelligence Team in-charge Gagan Gaud.
