Video: Day 2 of Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike: CJP protest over NEET paper leak enters ninth day

New Delhi: The protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Delhi's Jantar Mantar entered its ninth day on Monday, with climate activist Sonam Wangchuk beginning an indefinite hunger strike to press the group's demands.

The protesters have been demonstrating since June 20, seeking accountability over the alleged NEET paper leak and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Despite the ongoing protest, the Centre has not publicly responded to the group's demands or to Wangchuk's decision to begin an indefinite fast.

Addressing supporters at the protest site, Wangchuk said he had been compelled to undertake the hunger strike as none of the protesters' demands had been fulfilled.

Protest continues at Jantar Mantar

The Cockroach Janta Party has maintained its sit-in at Jantar Mantar, alleging irregularities in the NEET examination process and calling for greater accountability from the government.

While the protest continues, political debate has increasingly focused on allegations regarding the movement's funding, alongside its demands related to the alleged examination paper leak.

The Centre has not issued an official response to the protest's principal demands, including the call for the Education Minister's resignation. The demonstration remains ongoing as protesters await a response from the government.
