Greater Noida: Farmers in Greater Noida have announced a massive protest outside the Greater Noida Authority office, alleging that the Yogi-led UP government has failed to address the demands of the farmers. The farmer leaders claimed that over 10,000 farmers will join the protest on issues such as village habitation (abadi) rights, land plots, and promised employment.
Farmer leader Dr Rupesh Verma criticised the Yogi government and states that previous Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party government was more responsive to the issues related to farmers whereas the current BJP government acts like “dictatorship”.
Another farmer leader, Soran Pradhan accused the government fails to fulfil promises of employment made to families whose lands were acquired during the development projects. He further said that no public representative in the district is effectively raising the issues related to farmers.
