Patna: The Patna City seat has become a focal point in the Bihar Assembly elections, with Congress fielding Shashant Shekhar, a young candidate educated at IIT Delhi and IIM Kolkata. With credentials from India’s top institutions, Shashant is being regarded as one of Bihar’s most educated political aspirants.
In an exclusive interview with Dynamite News, Shashant said that if elected, he aims to transform Patna City in just 100 days. His manifesto focuses on education, healthcare, traffic, and cleanliness.
Shashant highlighted the poor state of schools in Patna, promising to build a school in every ward. He emphasized that Congress’s education-focused policies aim to provide Patna’s children opportunities on par with Delhi and Bengaluru students.
He criticized the current healthcare system, noting the lack of government hospitals forces residents to rely on private clinics. Shashant pledged to establish a modern government hospital in Patna City.
He called out the BJP’s 11,000 crore road project as a failure and presented his roadmap to tackle traffic jams and improve cleanliness.
Shashant criticized the BJP for implementing metro projects in already-developed areas while neglecting older parts of the city. He also highlighted BJP candidate Nand Kishore Yadav’s seven-term tenure, saying it failed to deliver development.
The Congress candidate added that his team spent eight months engaging with citizens to prepare a comprehensive resolution for Patna City.
