New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has reacted publicly for the first time to the growing attention surrounding the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), with senior RSS leader Sunil Ambekar stating that differing opinions and public debate are natural features of a democratic society.

The remarks come as the satirical social media-driven outfit continues to generate political discussion and attract significant online attention, particularly among younger audiences.

RSS Says Debate Is Normal in Democracy

Speaking on the controversy, RSS Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said India’s democratic framework is strong enough to accommodate diverse views and opinions.

He noted that India has transparent elections, an open media environment, and increasingly active social media platforms where discussions take place every day.

According to Ambekar, disagreements and criticism should not be treated as unusual developments but as a routine part of democratic functioning.

Cockroach Janta Party Draws Political Attention

The Cockroach Janta Party, founded by Abhijit Dipke, has emerged as a viral political and social media phenomenon in recent months. The outfit has gained substantial traction online and reportedly surpassed several mainstream political parties in social media following.

The rise of the group has also triggered political debate, with some leaders questioning its motives and alleging foreign links. At the same time, several opposition politicians and public figures have expressed support for the platform.

The party’s X account was recently blocked, and the matter is currently under consideration before the Delhi High Court.

RSS Expresses Confidence in Democratic Institutions

Ambekar stressed that India’s institutions, including political parties, media organisations, and democratic systems, are capable of handling debates and controversies without requiring immediate intervention from the RSS.

He said democratic processes already provide space for discussions, criticism, and public participation. The RSS leader also expressed confidence in India’s younger generation, saying Gen Z continues to have faith in the country’s future and democratic system.

Growing Social Media Influence

The Cockroach Janta Party has become a major talking point across social media platforms, especially among young users engaging with political satire and online activism.

Its rise reflects the increasing influence of digital platforms in shaping political narratives, public opinion, and youth engagement in democratic discussions. The controversy surrounding the group continues to evolve as political reactions and legal proceedings unfold.
