New Delhi: South Korean automobile company Kia has today on Tuesday launched its first mass market electric car Kia Carens Clavis EV, taking a major step towards electric mobility in the Indian market. Equipped with modern technology, great range and great features, this electric car has been introduced in two variants (standard range and extended range), reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Recently the company launched the regular petrol-diesel version of Carens Clavis in the Indian market. In terms of look and design, its electric version is quite similar to the ICE version. It will also have ice-cube pattern headlights and slim LED light bar. However, Kia India has made some cosmetic changes to differentiate between these two cars. Which can be seen a little in its exterior.
Starting price: 17.99 lakhs (ex-showroom)
Top variant price: 24.49 lakhs (ex-showroom)
Booking will start from 22 July. Customers can book the car through Kia's website or any authorized dealership.
The Carens Clavis EV is offered with two battery options. In which a 42kWh battery pack has been given for a range of 404 km and a 51.4kWh battery pack for a range of 490 km. The company says that with the help of a 100kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 39 minutes.

The design of the Kia Carens Clavis EV is largely similar to its ICE version, but as an EV, some cosmetic changes have been made to it.
There is a slim LED light bar, new bumper and charging port in the front. The cabin of this car is equipped with high-tech and premium features. Which has a 12.3 inch dual screen setup (infotainment + digital driver display).
