New Delhi: With the arrival of the new year, auto companies have begun increasing the prices of their cars. Following the Kylaq, Skoda Auto India has now increased the prices of its popular sedan, the Slavia. The company stated that prices across various variants have increased by up to ₹33,690. This increase has most significantly impacted the Slavia's Monte Carlo variants, which are among the top and feature-rich models in the portfolio.

Biggest Increase in Monte Carlo

The Slavia Monte Carlo 1.0 automatic has seen a price increase of up to ₹33,690. The Monte Carlo with the 1.5-liter DSG has also seen a significant price increase. These variants are popular with buyers due to their sporty design and advanced features. The Monte Carlo 1.5 DSG has seen a price increase of ₹29,207, a clear indication of the price increase in the top variants.

Prestige and Sportline

Other variants like Prestige and Sportline have also seen a price hike, but to a lesser extent than the Monte Carlo. The Prestige 1.0 automatic has seen a price hike of ₹27,690, while the Sportline 1.5 DSG has seen a price hike of ₹25,897. The Prestige variant with the 1.5-litre DSG powertrain has also seen a price hike, but it is less than the Monte Carlo, at around ₹23,207. The Signature and Sportline variants with the 1.0-litre engine have seen a marginal increase of up to ₹16,586.

Prices Remained Unchanged

However, the prices of some variants have remained unchanged. For example, the base Classic 1.0 manual variant remains available at the same price. After this change, the ex-showroom prices of the Slavia now range from ₹10 lakh to ₹17.99 lakh. The sedan is offered with two turbo petrol engine options - a 1.0-liter TSI and a more powerful 1.5-liter TSI.

This increase will directly impact buyers' budgets, especially those looking to purchase the top-end variants. While the base variants are still available at the old price, the top models will now require a higher budget. Skoda's price increase has been made to account for inflation and the cost of new technology and features.
