New Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds (Images: X)
New Delhi: Porsche India has officially introduced the much-awaited Cayenne Electric in the Indian market, expanding its luxury SUV portfolio with an all-electric performance model. The new electric SUV arrives in two variants — Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric — combining Porsche’s performance DNA with electric mobility.
Customer deliveries of the Porsche Cayenne Electric have started from September 30, 2026.
The Porsche Cayenne Electric has been launched at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 1.77 crore, while the high-performance Cayenne Turbo Electric is priced at Rs 2.27 crore. Porsche has confirmed that petrol-powered Cayenne models will continue to remain available alongside the electric versions in the coming years giving customers multiple powertrain options.
The new Cayenne Electric is powered by Porsche’s advanced E-Performance system with dual electric motors placed on the front and rear axles. The standard Cayenne Electric produces up to 408 hp, with power increasing to 442 hp through Launch Control. It can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.8 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 230 kmph.
The Cayenne Turbo Electric takes performance to another level with a massive 1,156 hp output and 1,150 Nm torque. Porsche claims the SUV can complete the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 2.5 seconds, making it one of the quickest luxury electric SUVs available in India.
The electric SUV comes equipped with a 113 kWh Performance Battery pack. The standard Cayenne Electric offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 642 km, while the Turbo Electric variant claims up to 623 km. The SUV supports DC fast charging at up to 390 kW. Porsche claims the battery can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in around 16 minutes under ideal conditions. The vehicle also supports AC charging up to 22 kW and becomes the first Porsche model in India to offer an optional 11 kW wireless charging system.
The Cayenne Electric retains Porsche’s signature SUV design, but receives several electric-specific updates, including a redesigned front profile closed grille design, active aerodynamic vents and Matrix LED headlights with four-point DRLs. SUV measures 4,985 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and comes with a 3,023 mm wheelbase, making it slightly longer than the petrol-powered Cayenne.
For practicality, the electric SUV offers a 90-litre front storage compartment and a 781-litre rear boot space. With rear seats folded, storage capacity increases to 1,588 litres. The Cayenne Electric can tow up to 3,000 kg, while models equipped with the Offroad Package can tow up to 3,500 kg.
Inside Porsche has introduced a curved 14.5-inch infotainment display in India for the first time. The cabin also gets a fully digital instrument cluster, optional 14.9-inch passenger screen and an augmented reality head-up display. Standard features include electrically adjustable front seats, four-zone climate control, ventilated seats, panoramic roof and wireless smartphone charging.
Safety and driver assistance features include ParkAssist with 2D Surround View, Lane Change Assist, Intersection Assist, Brake Assist, Swerve Assist and Speed Limit Assist. SUV also gets Comfort Access technology with ultra-wideband connectivity and gesture-controlled tailgate operation.
The Porsche Cayenne Electric will compete with premium electric SUVs including the Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW iX and Lotus Eletre in the Indian market. With high-performance electric power, luxury-focused interiors and advanced technology, the new Cayenne Electric marks Porsche’s next step towards electrified mobility in India.
