New Delhi: Tesla is working on a new, smaller, and more affordable electric SUV. This vehicle will be an entirely new model, rather than a variant of the existing Model 3 or Model Y.

Where Will It Be Built?

According to sources, production of this SUV will commence first in China. Subsequently, it may also be manufactured in the United States and Europe.

Size and Design

The new SUV will be smaller in size than the current Tesla Model Y. It will measure approximately 4.28 meters in length, making it more compact and well-suited for urban environments.

How ​​Will the Price Be Kept Low?

To make this vehicle affordable, the company plans to implement several changes:

• A smaller battery (resulting in a shorter range)
• A single motor (resulting in lower power output)
• Lighter weight (approximately 1.5 tons)

As a result, its price could potentially be even lower than that of the Tesla Model 3.

A Shift in Strategy?

Previously, Elon Musk had shelved plans for an affordable car (the "Model 2") to focus instead on robotaxis and AI robots. This new SUV, however, suggests that the company may be shifting its focus back toward affordable vehicles for the general consumer market.

Driverless vs. Manually Driven
