New Delhi: The dates for the Bihar Assembly elections have been officially announced. The Election Commission provided complete information about the nomination, voting, and counting dates through a press conference.
Bihar elections will be held in two phases. The first phase of voting will take place on 6 November, and the second phase on 11 November. The results will be declared on 14 November.

The Election Commission has also announced the dates for nominations. Candidates can submit their nomination papers within the stipulated time. The final list of candidates will be released after the nomination process.

The date of issuance of the Gazette notification will be October 10, 2025 (Friday) and October 13, 2025 (Monday). The last date for filing nominations will be October 17, 2025 (Friday) and October 20, 2025 (Monday).
The date for scrutiny of nominations will be October 18, 2025 (Saturday) and October 21, 2025 (Tuesday). The last date for withdrawal of candidatures will be October 20, 2025 (Monday) and October 23, 2025 (Thursday).
According to Election Commission data, Bihar has a total of 74.3 million voters, including 39.2 million men, 35.0 million women, and 1,725 transgender voters. Additionally, 720,000 disabled voters, 40.4 million senior citizens over the age of 14,000, and 14,000 centenarians are eligible to vote. This includes 16.3 million service voters, 16.3 million young voters (20-29 years), and approximately 140.1 million first-time voters (18-19 years).
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated that the purification of the voter list in Bihar began on June 24, 2025. A draft list was published on August 1, followed by a period for claims and objections from August 1 to September 1. The final voter list was subsequently released on September 30. He also stated that any errors can be appealed to the District Magistrate.
