Patna: Bihar politics is once again undergoing a major change. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take oath for the 10th time in office today, Thursday. After being unanimously elected leader of the NDA legislature party at its meeting on Wednesday, she submitted her resignation to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and staked claim to form the new government. All preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Patna have been completed.

Nitish Unanimously Elected Leader

JDU MLA Vijay Chaudhary proposed Nitish Kumar as leader, which was seconded by BJP leaders Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha. Subsequently, MLAs from all NDA parties supported the proposal.

Immediately after Nitish Kumar's election, Nitish Kumar went to meet the Governor. He was accompanied by several leaders, including Union Ministers Chirag Paswan, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Dharmendra Pradhan, RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha, and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.

BJP Re-Elects Its Leader

Before the joint meeting of the NDA, both the JDU and BJP held meetings of their respective legislative parties. While Nitish Kumar was re-elected as the leader of the JDU, the BJP once again elected Samrat Chaudhary as the legislative party leader and Vijay Kumar Sinha as the deputy leader.

BJP's central observer Keshav Prasad Maurya, co-observer Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who attended the meeting, announced this decision. Both senior leaders expressed their gratitude to the central leadership and MLAs for their renewed confidence.

What Will the New Cabinet Look Like?

Nitish Kumar's new government is likely to retain mostly old faces. The BJP also does not appear to be in the mood for a major reshuffle of its ministers. However, new faces are expected to be included in the cabinet from the quotas of NDA allies—Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Upendra Kushwaha's RLM, and Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM.

Preparations For A Show of Strength at Gandhi Maidan

Extensive preparations have been completed for the swearing-in ceremony at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states, and key NDA alliance leaders are scheduled to attend the event.
Political analysts believe that this swearing-in ceremony will not only mark the beginning of the new government in Bihar, but will also prove to be a major show of strength by the NDA.
