Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday said that a response will be given to the Election Commission of India (ECI) on the notice sent to me over a voter ID, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

While talking to reporters before leaving for Ranchi for the last rites of JMM Pariarch Shibu Soren, Tejashwi said, 'A response will be given... Many names are missing from the voter list, and we have several irregularities by the Election Commission with us. We will send this to the Election Commission and also present it in court.'

Tejashwi Yadav further said that many voters have been removed from the list. He said, 'We have demanded booth-wise data because many names have been deliberately excluded. For example, Vyas ji’s name is missing. In some houses, over 50 voters have been removed. These are not minor errors; they are serious irregularities, and we have proof. We will send this evidence to the Election Commission and also submit it before the court.'

FIR Filed

A complaint has also been filed at the Digha police station in Patna, asking for an investigation into the "issuance of two voter identity cards" in favor of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav.

This information was shared by an official. "We have sent the complaint to the district election office, which is the proper authority to handle such cases," the official said. If there is any instruction from the election authorities regarding this, an FIR can be filed.

Election Commission Issued Notice

Earlier, the Election Commission had sent a notice to Bihar's Leader of Opposition and senior RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, asking for an explanation for allegedly having two different Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers. In the notice sent on Sunday, the EC rejected Tejashwi Yadav's claim that his name was missing from the draft list published on August 1 after a special in-depth revision (SIR).

The EC referred to his statement that he had mentioned his EPIC number as RAB 2916120. After checking, the Electoral Registration Officer of the Digha assembly constituency found that the EPIC number RAB 2916120 has not been officially issued. In the notice, the EC clearly stated that the real voter ID number of Tejashwi Yadav's voter ID card is RAB 0456228. The EC has asked the RJD leader to provide details about the voter ID number RAB 2916120 he mentioned during a press conference on August 2, along with the original voter ID card, so that a detailed investigation can be done.
