Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer Divya Mittal has resigned from the Indian Administrative Service after completing nearly 13 years of service. The 2013-batch officer announced her decision through an emotional post on social media, recalling her journey of public service and her connection with the country.

Divya Mittal Ends 13-Year Administrative Journey

Divya Mittal, who was serving as Special Secretary in the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Department, said she has decided to step away from the IAS voluntarily. She described her administrative journey as an unforgettable experience that gave her the opportunity to work for the people and the nation.

Before her current posting, Mittal served as the District Magistrate of Deoria and Mirzapur, where she gained recognition for her working style and public-oriented decisions.

From IIT Delhi and IIM Bangalore to Civil Services

In her emotional note, Divya Mittal recalled that she came from a simple background and always dreamed of achieving something meaningful in life.

After completing her education from IIT Delhi and IIM Bangalore, she worked in London. However, she said her connection with India and the desire to contribute to the country brought her back.

She wrote that her education and abilities were gifts from the country and she wanted to repay that debt through public service.

Remembered Blessings From Village Woman

While announcing her resignation, Divya Mittal shared a special memory from her tenure. She recalled meeting an elderly woman from Lahuria Dah village, where water supply reached for the first time.

She said the blessings and affection she received from that woman would remain with her forever, even after leaving the administrative position. Divya Mittal’s resignation marks the end of a significant chapter in her career, during which she handled several important responsibilities in Uttar Pradesh.
