New Delhi: The Central Government on Thursday announced a major bureaucratic reshuffle, appointing new secretaries across several key ministries, including the Ministry of Education. The reshuffle comes at a time when students across the country are protesting over education-related issues.

1. Katikithala Srinivas – Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs → Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER)
2. Vineet Joshi – Secretary, Department of Higher Education → Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj
3. Naresh Pal Gangwar – Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying → Secretary, Department of Higher Education
4. Piyush Goyal – Secretary, Ministry of Mines → Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)
5. T.K. Anil Kumar – Additional Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development → Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy

Upgradation List
1. Mritunjay Kumar Narayan, IAS (UP:95) – Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs, has been upgraded in-situ to the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, while continuing as Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner.
2. Santosh Kumar Yadav, IAS (UP:95) – Chairman, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, has been upgraded in-situ to the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, with the post of Chairman, NHAI restored to Secretary level.
3. Rajeev Singh Thakur, IAS (RJ:95) – Adviser, NITI Aayog, has been upgraded in-situ to the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, while continuing as Adviser, NITI Aayog.
4. Dilip Kumar, IAS (PB:95) – Director General, Ministry of Skills, has been upgraded to the rank of Secretary to the Government of India..
