New Delhi: Gautam Adani group today said it has received a Request for Information (RFI) from U.S Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) last week as part of “civil investigation” linked to allegations flagged in the Wall Street Journal article on June 2, June 2025.
In a regulatory filing with the stock exchanges, Adani Enterprises said “Following the Company’s voluntarily engagement with OFAC concerning allegations contained in a WSJ Article of 2nd June 2025, the Company has, through its Counsel, received a RFI from OFAC on February 4, 2026 (India time)/ February 3, 2026 (US time). In the RFI, OFAC has also indicated that it is conducting a civil investigation of the Company’s transactions processed through U.S. financial institutions that may have involved, directly or indirectly, Iran or interests of persons subject to U.S. sanctions against Iran.”
Adani Enterprises, however, emphasised that the company has proactively and voluntarily initiated discussions with the U.S. OFAC concerning the allegations raised in the WSJ Article of 2nd June 2025.
Period for which the current communication would be applicable for the period June 2023 to present, Adani Enterprises stated adding that it is expecting no financial implications due to this communication received from the OFAC.
It also said that the company has ceased all ILP imports from June 2, 2025.
“LPG formed a very small and operationally non-material component of the Company’s (1.46%) and the Adani Group’s (0.5%) overall revenue in FY24-25. Nonetheless, out of abundant caution and as part of its co-operation efforts, the Company ceased all LPG imports with effect from 2nd June 2025,” it said.
