CBI nabs J&K Assistant Commissioner Food Safety
Srinagar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Sanjeev Bali, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, Health Department, Substance and Food Control Organization, Rajouri District, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, while accepting bribe. The accused is accused of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The CBI had registered a case in this matter on 25 August. According to the complaint, Sanjeev Bali had demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant to avoid taking samples from his shop and exempt him from inspection for a year, so that he could run his business without any hassle.
The CBI laid a trap on 25 August and caught the accused red-handed while accepting bribe. After that, raids were conducted at the residential premises of the accused, in which documents of immovable property worth more than Rs 1.5 crore were recovered. These documents are under investigation.
The investigation is still underway, further details are awaited.
Puducherry: CBI nabs Assistant Labour Commissioner in bribery case; Rs 1 lakh recovered
Last week on Friday the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a parcel clerk at Rourkela Railway Station, Odisha while accepting bribe. CBI had registered a case in this matter on 21st August 2025. It is alleged that the parcel clerk demanded a bribe of Rs 8,000 from the complainant to book his luggage on priority.
After negotiations, the accused parcel clerk agreed to accept a bribe of Rs 8,000 and kept the freight booking bill with him so that the complainant could pay the bribe amount. CBI laid a trap on 21st August and caught the clerk red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,200.
Last week on Friday itself Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended the Assistant Labour Commissioner of the Labour Department of the Central Government in Puducherry and a private person on charges of bribery. Rs 1 lakh of bribe has been recovered from the accused.
CBI started investigation in this case on 21 August. It is alleged that the Assistant Labour Commissioner had demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a private company. He had demanded this bribe through a private person. The company had applied for two labour licenses, which were necessary for the Trichy road contract of NHAI. Due to non-availability of labour license, the company's payment from NHAI was stopped.
Odisha: CBI apprehends Railway parcel clerk taking bribe at Rourkela Station
