Fatal BMW Crash Shocks Mumbai as Car Plunges Into Construction Site (Image: Google)
Mumbai: A high-speed BMW crashed through the edge barrier of Mumbai’s Coastal Road and fell from a bridge into an under-construction parking area early Sunday morning, leaving three people dead and one critically injured.
The shocking accident was captured on CCTV footage, which showed the luxury vehicle travelling at high speed before losing control and plunging from the bridge.
The accident took place around 5:20 am when the BMW was moving from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali, officials said. According to the Coastal Road Control Room, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle near Lotus Jetty, opposite Lala Lajpatrai College.
The car crashed through the side barrier of the bridge and landed at the construction site below, causing severe damage to the vehicle.
All four occupants of the BMW were rushed to the civic-run Nair Hospital after the accident. Doctors declared three people dead, while another passenger was admitted to the trauma ward in critical condition.
The deceased were identified as 21-year-old Shanay Gajjal and 17-year-old Dhirya Seth. The identity of the third victim, a man believed to be around 25 years old has not yet been confirmed.
A fourth occupant, a man believed to be around 20 years old, suffered serious injuries and continues to receive treatment. Officials said his condition remains critical.

Mumbai Police have launched a detailed investigation into the accident. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to determine the exact circumstances behind the crash, including factors that may have led to the vehicle losing control.
