16 Maoists surrender in Narayanpur
Narayanpur Superintendent of Police Robinson Guria said that the Maoists expressed disappointment over the 'hollow' Maoist ideology, atrocities committed by them on innocent tribals and growing internal differences in the banned organization.
He said that all the 16 Maoists were low-level workers, who were associated with various units including Jantana Sarkar, Chetna Natya Mandali and members of the Maoists' Panchayat militia.
The officer said that although their position in the Maoist hierarchy was relatively low, they still played an important role in maintaining the insurgency.
