New Delhi: Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar witnessed a shocking crime case after the decomposed body of a teenage girl was recovered from an isolated location. Delhi Police have registered a case of alleged gangrape and murder after the preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had gone to meet a person known to her before the incident. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and other evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events.
The case came to light after police recovered the teenager’s body from a deserted area in Swaroop Nagar. The body was found in a highly decomposed condition, making the identification process difficult initially.
During the investigation, police found that the teenager had suffered multiple injuries, including alleged stab wounds. A case related to gangrape and murder was registered, and teams were deployed to trace those involved in the crime.
According to the police investigation, the teenager had gone to meet a person known to her. However, she did not return home, following which her family started searching for her.
Investigators are probing the events that took place after she reached the location. Police are collecting forensic evidence, statements and technical details to establish the complete sequence of the incident.
Police have apprehended four accused in connection with the case. The accused include a 19-year-old man and three minors.
Investigators said CCTV footage from more than 50 cameras helped them track the movements linked to the crime. Police also traced a suspected tempo connected with the case, which allegedly helped them identify the accused.
Officials said further investigation is underway to establish the individual roles of those involved. Evidence, including material recovered during the probe, is being examined through forensic analysis.
The incident has triggered concern over the safety of women and minors in Delhi. As the investigation continues, police teams are focusing on gathering additional evidence and completing the legal process against the accused.
