Earlier, Ram Rahim was released on 40-day parole in August last year. During that time, he delivered sermons at the Dera headquarters along with satsangs (religious gatherings).

Granted parole once again

This is not the first time Ram Rahim has been granted parole. He has been released from jail several times before. Last time, he was granted a 40-day parole on September 15. With this new parole, Ram Rahim will be released from jail for the 15th time. Previously, during his 21-day and 40-day parole periods, he stayed at the Sirsa Dera complex.

Strict Administration

The administration has made it clear that Ram Rahim will not leave the Sirsa Dera during his parole. His activities will be monitored, and strict security arrangements will be in place. A warning has also been issued that action will be taken if the parole conditions are violated.

Here’s Why He Is In Jail

A special CBI court sentenced Gurmeet Ram Rahim to 10 years of imprisonment in each of the two cases of rape of female followers, totaling 20 years. He has also been convicted in the murder case of journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati. In addition, Ram Rahim has been sentenced in the murder case of Dera manager Ranjit Singh. He is currently serving his sentence in Sunaria Jail in all these cases.

Questions Raised Over Parole

Questions are continuously being raised about the repeated parole granted to Ram Rahim. Anshul Chhatrapati, son of journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati, has also objected to this decision. He says that Ram Rahim is not an ordinary criminal but a cunning criminal, who should not be given repeated relief.

Government's Stance

However, the Haryana government, in an affidavit filed in the High Court, has refused to consider Ram Rahim a cunning criminal. The government says that according to jail records, his conduct has been satisfactory, and under jail rules, a prisoner can be granted a maximum of 90 days of parole per year. This relief has been granted on this basis.
