As per the reports, four to five armed men barged into the office building around 9:30 pm and began firing indiscriminately before making a swift escape.

Gurugram: Gurugram’s Sector 45 turned into a thriller crime scene on Thursday night when a group of masked gunmen stormed a real estate company’s office, firing multiple bullet rounds and leaving the neighbourhood shaken. The assailants reportedly fired 25-30 rounds at the office of MNR Buildmark at night.

As per the reports, four to five armed men barged into the office building around 9: 30 pm and began firing indiscriminately before making a swift escape.

Gangster Deepak Nandal claims responsibility

The police officials confirmed that CCTV footage is being examined to identify the shooters and determine their escape route. Meanwhile, through a social media post, Gangster Deepak Nandal, has claimed responsibility for the shooting at the building. This has been allegedly done to target Rohit Raheja, a partner of the firm.

A portion of the post in Hindi read, “Greetings to all, I am Deepak Nandal, who got the firing done at MNR. The reason is that Rohit Raheja’s relative Nitin Talwar has been withholding my money since 2019, along with his accomplices. This is a warning to all; whoever withholds my money and troubles me will be killed”.

However, the police said they are verifying the claims. The accused also allegedly damaged a luxury car parked in the compound before fleeing, the police said. They are still unsure about the motive and also if the claim made by the gangster is correct.

Spike in shooting cases

In recent months, Gurugram has witnessed a worrying spike in shooting incidents. In July, popular Haryanvi singer Rahul Fazilpuria narrowly escaped an attack when shots were fired at him. Just weeks later, his close friend Rohit Shakeen was gunned down in August.

The violence didn’t stop there. Soon after this, unidentified assailants reportedly opened fire outside the home of YouTuber Elvish Yadav, who is also a friend of Fazilpuria. The gunfire happened early morning around 5:30 to 6 am, when Yadav was not at home.

His family members and caretaker were present inside during the attack. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
