The drive aimed to enforce the Motor Vehicles Act.

The drive was overseen by Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajashri Raj Varma and Additional DCP Lalit Sharma, demonstrating the seriousness of Jaipur Police in enforcing traffic regulations. The authorities aimed to discourage motorists from flouting established rules and to promote safer roads.
According to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules of 1989, reinforced by a 2012 Supreme Court ruling, Rule 100(2) strictly prohibits the use of black or visible light transmission films on windscreens and side windows. These regulations are intended to ensure maximum visibility for drivers and pedestrians, reducing the risk of accidents.
Even clear UV-protection films applied after a vehicle leaves the factory are considered illegal. The regulations apply to all vehicles, emphasizing that post-manufacture modifications must comply with safety standards. Non-compliance can lead to fines, seizure of vehicles, and other legal consequences.
