New Delhi: A 17-year-old Class 12 student died after allegedly consuming a patty from his school canteen in Jaipur, with his family accusing the school administration of delaying medical assistance after he collapsed on the premises.

The deceased student, identified as Prince Soni, was reportedly captured collapsing inside the school campus on CCTV footage on Wednesday. The video shows him walking before suddenly stopping, looking towards a teacher and falling unconscious.

Family Alleges School Failed To Take Student To Hospital

According to Prince’s family, school officials did not immediately shift him to a hospital and kept him on campus for nearly 45 minutes after the collapse.

His father Amit Soni claimed that Prince had eaten a stale aloo patty purchased from the school canteen before falling ill. He said the school informed him around 11 am that his son was unwell and asked him to come to the premises.

The family alleged that by the time they reached the school and took Prince to a hospital, doctors declared him dead.

CCTV Shows Teachers Attempting CPR

The CCTV footage reportedly shows school staff carrying Prince to a classroom after he collapsed. One teacher was also seen performing CPR while the student was lying on a sofa.

Prince’s parents questioned why the school did not arrange immediate medical assistance and instead waited for family members to arrive.

His mother Nirmala alleged that when she reached the school, her son was unresponsive, with his hands and face turning cold and blue.

Police Begin Probe Into Student’s Death

Following the incident, family members and locals gathered outside the school and protested, demanding strict action against those responsible.

The parents have sought action from the Education Department and police, alleging negligence by the school administration.

Police have registered a case and questioned the school owner and teachers as part of the investigation. Authorities are also examining CCTV footage and other details to determine the exact cause behind the student’s death.
