Ahmedabad:  Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has reportedly been moved to a specialised high-security enclosure at Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, placing him in a section designed to restrict inmate movement and maintain strict separation between prisoners, according to the reports

‘Do Sau Kholi’ Block Houses 200 Inmates

The new enclosure, known as “Do Sau Kholi”, reportedly accommodates around 200 inmates accused or convicted in serious criminal and terrorism-related cases. The facility is divided into four separate sections, each designed to house approximately 50 prisoners.

The arrangement is intended to prevent movement between sections and limit contact among inmates. Bishnoi’s cell is reported to measure approximately 7.5 feet by 11 feet, reflecting the restricted conditions inside the high-security facility.

Previous Jail Arrangements and Restrictions

Before the reported transfer, Bishnoi was lodged in “Dus Kholi”, a smaller high-security enclosure accommodating around 10 inmates. He has been held at Sabarmati Central Jail since May 2023, following his arrest by Gujarat’s Anti-Terrorism Squad in connection with a narcotics seizure case.

The latest report states that investigators have not recorded direct calls or communications originating from Bishnoi over the past two years. In earlier periods of his detention, recorded conversations and alleged threats had drawn attention to concerns about criminal networks operating from behind prison walls.

Gang Network Remains Under Scrutiny

Despite Bishnoi’s confinement, his alleged criminal syndicate continues to face scrutiny over its reported international links. According to the report, associates operating from overseas locations are believed to coordinate recruitment, logistics, financial arrangements and target selection through a decentralised structure.

The transfer comes amid continued attention on prison security and efforts to restrict communication by high-profile inmates. However, the report does not specify an official order or a detailed administrative explanation for the latest relocation.

The reported move highlights the security measures surrounding Bishnoi’s detention at Sabarmati Central Jail, where restrictions on movement and contact remain central to his custody arrangements.
