Chhatarpur: In a bizarre and tragic turn of events, a 42-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district partially severed his own genitals using an axe. According to local officials, the resident took this extreme step on Saturday morning in a desperate bid to permanently extinguish his sexual desires. The incident occurred in the Maharajpur police station jurisdiction, roughly 20 kilometers away from the district headquarters.
The individual, identified as Rammilan Yadav, allegedly carried out the act near a well located close to his agricultural field. Relatives revealed that immediately after inflicting the severe injuries upon himself, Yadav contacted his cousin for help. He was initially rushed to the primary health centre in Maharajpur. However, observing the critical nature of the deep wounds, medical professionals immediately referred him to the Chhatarpur district hospital for advanced emergency care.
A video clip circulating on social media features Yadav explaining his drastic motives to a local journalist from his hospital bed. Yadav, who manages a traditional Ram Leela theatrical troupe, confessed to being intensely tormented by internal feelings of lust and anger. "I thought I should end my sexual desire," Yadav stated, adding that his future goal is to dedicate his remaining life to religious prayers, national service, and public welfare.
Family members disclosed that Yadav has been navigating immense personal and financial distress. His wife has been battling long-term paralysis, and the family is currently preparing for their daughter's wedding scheduled for June 25. Yadav also has a son and another daughter.
Dr. Rajesh Mishra from the district hospital confirmed that the patient suffered a partial severing of his genital organ and is currently undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, Maharajpur Station House Officer D K Singh noted that the police have not received an official complaint regarding the self-harm incident so far.
