20-Year-Old Woman Killed With A Knife, Accused Suicides within hours

Nashik: A 20-year-old woman was stabbed to death by a man, whereas the accused was found hanging from a tree in the same area hours later in a suspected case of murder-suicide case as per Nashik police on Saturday, 18th July 2026.

According to police officials, the accused is a 26-year-old Sahil Ashok Lavare, who allegedly killed the victim, Vaishnavi Avare, near a temple in the Indiranagar area late on Friday (17th July 2026) night before diving by suicide at a jogging track in the locality in the early hours of the day.

According to officials, the alleged accused stabbed the victim and slit her throat with a knife. The nearby residents rushed to the scene after hearing the screams.

The official stated that the accused managed to flee, and the woman died on the spot. Later, around 3 am, the accused was found hanging from a tree on the jogging track in the area, as per police officials.

The Victim was living as a paying guest in the area, and she was identified as a student. The preliminary probe claims that the victim and accuse had met on Friday evening, and the attack may have stemmed from a one-sided love affair.

A case of murder has been filed, and a probe has been launched to ascertain the exact reason for the murder.
