Indore: The prime accused in the shocking murder of a 24-year-old MBA student in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore displayed a calm and dismissive attitude while interacting with the media, even as police continued investigating the gruesome crime.
Identified as Piyush Dhamanodia, the accused was seen surrounded by police personnel when reporters questioned him about the alleged killing of his classmate and girlfriend. When repeatedly asked why he committed the crime, he responded, “Nothing happened, leave it. Nothing happened,” maintaining a faint smile. He also avoided expressing regret and said, “I will tell everyone… Time will come.”

Police later took the accused to his rented flat in the Dwarkapuri area, where the victim’s body had been recovered, to reconstruct the sequence of events. According to officials, a knife allegedly used in the crime has been seized.
Station House Officer Manish Mishra said investigators verified the details provided by the accused during interrogation. A letter reportedly found in his purse, written after the murder, referenced the killing and mentioned misunderstandings between the two.
Authorities have received a preliminary post-mortem report, and further clarity is expected after forensic science laboratory findings are examined.
Police said the victim was allegedly strangled inside the accused’s rented accommodation following an argument related to their relationship. The accused reportedly suspected that she was in contact with another man.
The body was discovered on February 13 after neighbours alerted authorities about a foul smell coming from the locked apartment. The accused was arrested the following day from Mumbai’s Andheri area.
Investigators also allege that after the murder, the accused used the victim’s phone to circulate intimate videos in a college WhatsApp group in an attempt to defame her. Police further claimed he travelled near Mumbai and performed occult rituals, believing he could communicate with her spirit.
Officials said digital evidence and recovered materials are under forensic examination, and further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
