New Delhi: Three minor sisters — Nishika (16), Prachi (14), and Pakhi (12) — allegedly jumped to their deaths from a ninth-floor balcony in Bharat City, Ghaziabad, early Wednesday at around 2:15 am. The girls were rushed to a hospital in Loni, where they were declared dead on arrival.

Father Recalls Gaming Influence

Their father, Chetan Kumar, said the girls had been playing an online Korean task-based game for nearly three years. He claimed he was unaware that the game involved specific “tasks” and only learned about it after the police examined their mobile phones. Prachi, the middle sister, reportedly acted as the “boss,” directing the other two.

Sequence of Events

Kumar recounted that the family was asleep when the girls woke under the pretext of drinking water, bolted the door from inside, and jumped from the balcony. The girls threw their mobile phones outside, which were later seized by the police.

Preliminary Police Findings

Police said the sisters appeared addicted to the online game and spent most of their time confined to their room, even eating and bathing together. The girls had not attended school regularly for the past two to three years. Recent restrictions on their mobile phone usage may have contributed to distress.

Suicide Note and Investigation

Investigators recovered a handwritten note from the sisters’ belongings reading, “Sorry, Papa, I am really sorry,” along with a crying-face emoji. The police emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and it is not yet confirmed whether the game directly caused the tragedy.
