WB: CM Mamata Banerjee rushes to I-PAC Chief house during ED raid in Kolkata

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided the Kolkata office of I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee), a company handling political and electoral management for the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, located in Salt Lake Sector-5. ED teams have also been raiding the Loudon Street office of the company's owner, Prateek Jain, since Thursday morning, January 8th.

According to sources, the ED team, which arrived in Kolkata from Delhi, is conducting the raids in connection with an investigation into a coal scam.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also arrived at Prateek Jain's residence. Kolkata Police Commissioner Manoj Verma arrived just 5 minutes before the CM.

Mamata Banerjee leaves with files and laptops
After the ED arrived at the I-PAC office in Kolkata, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also reached the location. CM Mamata Banerjee left the I-PAC office carrying files and laptops.

Speaking to the media about the ED raid in Kolkata, the Chief Minister said, "It is unfortunate that a central agency is conducting a raid here. Confidential party documents, strategies, and candidate lists are kept here."

Mamata Banerjee targets Amit Shah
CM Mamata Banerjee further said, "I am taking away important party documents and hard disks." Targeting the BJP, the CM said, "Amit Shah is a nasty Home Minister.

He has failed to protect the country." The CM further asked, "Will Home Minister Amit Shah order the ED to raid the BJP's party office?"

The Chief Minister further added, "On one hand, voters' names are being deleted, while on the other hand, attempts are being made to illegally collect sensitive data."

Who is Prateek Jain?
Prateek Jain is the owner of the I-PAC Salt Lake company. I-PAC played a crucial role in the Trinamool Congress's victory in the 2021 assembly elections. This time too, I-PAC is playing a crucial role in formulating various strategies for the ruling party in the state, countering opposition attacks, and devising election campaign strategies.
