Anant Singh arrested by Patna Police
Patna: The Janata Dal (United) [JDU] candidate Anant Singh was arrested by Patna Police late last night in connection with the infamous Dularchand Yadav murder case.
Following Anant Singh's arrest, Patna District Magistrate Dr Tyagarajan stated that, "This murder has been taken very seriously. We camped there day and night for 48 hours. The situation is now completely normal. This incident is related to the election process, so it has been investigated from every angle. Action has been taken against all anti-social elements. By yesterday, 80 people had been arrested, and today the main accused, Anant Singh, has also been arrested. We have identified those who want to influence the elections."
CAPF personnel deployed, security tightened
The DM stated that CAPF personnel have been deployed and raids are being conducted to seize illegal weapons. Promising fair voting in Mokama, the Patna District Magistrate told, "The district administration and police have taken the incident in the Mokama assembly constituency very seriously. We have taken several actions in this case."

The Patna District Magistrate stated that instructions have been given to set up 50 checking points in each assembly constituency. The CAPF is also conducting continuous checking. Maximum seizures have been made in Patna. A large number of CAPF personnel have been deployed. They are working in coordination with the magistrate and police.
On Thursday, Dularchand Yadav was murdered in Mokama, Patna district, while campaigning for Jan Suraj Party candidate Piyush Priyadarshi.
Bihar's Mokama assembly constituency is considered a hot seat. The arrest of Janata Dal United candidate Anant Singh has made the election battle even more interesting.

Associates arrive with tea for Anant Singh
After Anant Singh's arrest on Saturday, he was placed in the extortion cell at the SSP office.
Anant Singh's associates arrived in the morning with tea for the former MLA.
However, the administration did not allow them to meet Anant Singh.
Then, the staff present there accepted the tea. This cell is considered very secure and there are strong security arrangements around it.
