IIT-IIM graduate Shashant Shekhar enters Bihar Polls
Patna: The contest for the Patna City seat has become particularly interesting in this Bihar Assembly election. Congress has fielded Shashant Shekhar, a young candidate educated at IIT Delhi and IIM Kolkata. With credentials from the country’s premier educational institutions, Shashant is being regarded as one of Bihar’s most educated candidates.
In an exclusive interview with Dynamite News, Shashant said that if the public gives him a chance, he will transform Patna City in just 100 days. He has released his manifesto addressing education, health, traffic, and cleanliness.
Shashant Shekhar said, 'The situation in Patna is very poor, especially in the field of education. The state of schools is distressing. If I become an MLA, I will first work on the education system. A school will be built in every ward.'
He said, 'The Congress Party's policy has always been education-centric, and they will carry forward that vision. We want children in Patna City to have the same opportunities as students in Delhi and Bengaluru.'
Shashant launched a scathing attack, saying, 'The state of health services in Patna is deteriorating. Due to the lack of government hospitals, people have to resort to private clinics for even minor treatments. He promised to build a modern government hospital in Patna City as soon as he became an MLA.'
Shashant alleged that the BJP government launched a 11,000 crore rupee project to improve Patna's roads and traffic system, but it proved to be a complete failure. He said, 'We have prepared a roadmap ourselves that will permanently eliminate the problem of traffic jams. Cleaning filth and drains will be our third priority.'
Shashant said, 'The BJP government built the metro route in areas where roads were already wide, while older areas like Patna City, Chowk, and Kangan Ghat were ignored. This is a double standard for the residents of Patna.'
Targeting the BJP candidate, Shashant said, 'Nand Kishore Yadav served as an MLA seven times, but he failed to achieve any substantial development in the area. Every system, from roads to education, is in shambles.'
He further said that the Congress has spent the past eight months going door-to-door to learn about people's problems and, based on that, has prepared a resolution letter for Patna City.
