Box Office Showdown: Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Leads But Kantara Slows While Dude Struggles

New Delhi: In recent times, many films of different genres have been released in theaters to entertain the audience. These include the horror-comedy ‘Thamma,’ the romantic drama ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat,’ and the period historical thrillers ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ and ‘Dude,’ which released a few weeks ago.

Let us know how these films performed at the box office on Friday.

Thamma’s earnings and performance

The film ‘Thamma,’ directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rashmika Mandanna, and Paresh Rawal, is doing well at the box office.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Box Office Day 2: Is this romantic drama keeping pace with Thamma?

It had earned Rs 24 crore on the first day. Its collection on the second day was Rs 18.6 crore, and on the third day it was Rs 13 crore. According to the recent report, the film collected Rs 10.05 crore on the fourth day, i.e., Friday.

With this, the total earnings of the film in four days have reached Rs 65.65 crore. These figures show that the film continues to be popular among the audience.

Box office status of Ek Deewane Ki Diwaniyat

Harshvardhan Rane’s romantic drama film ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ has also made a good mark at the box office. The film had earned Rs 9 crore on the first day. On the second day it reached Rs 7.75 crore, and on the third day it reached Rs 6 crore.

Kaantara Chapter 1 is creating a buzz everywhere

The film earned Rs 5.5 crore on the fourth day, and the total earning in four days has now reached Rs 28.25 crore. These figures show that the romantic drama has been successful in attracting the audience, although its earnings were slightly less than that of ‘Thamma.’

Kantara Chapter 1 is long-running and earning

The Kannada film ‘Kanthara Chapter 1’ has been a hit at the box office since its release. A prequel to the 2022 hit film ‘Kantara,’ the film earned Rs 337.4 crore in its first week. The earnings in the second week were Rs 147.85 crore, and in the third week, they were Rs 78.85 crore.

According to reports, the film earned Rs 2.23 crore on the fourth Friday. Overall, its earnings in 23 days have reached Rs 566.33 crore. These figures show that the film remained with the audience for a long time, although the earnings declined from week to week.

Dude’s earnings decline

Keerthyswaran’s directorial ‘Dude,’ which released on October 17, 2025, had collected Rs 56.5 crore in its first week. But in the second week it did not get the expected response from the audience.

On the second Friday, the film collected only Rs 75 lakh. The total earning in 8 days is now Rs 57.24 crore. This shows that the film saw a sharp decline in earnings after the initial enthusiasm.

Kantara: Chapter 1 emerges as one of 2025’s biggest blockbusters

This week, ‘Thamma’ and ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ did well in the first four days in theaters, while ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ showed a decline in earnings week after week despite its long run. Whereas ‘Dude’ did not achieve the expected success.

It is clear from these figures that the content and star cast of the film play an important role at the box office.
