New Delhi: Actor Alia Bhatt drew attention at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival with an elegant ivory saree-inspired outfit during her latest appearance at the French Riviera. Videos and photographs of the actor quickly went viral on social media, with fans praising her sophisticated look and graceful presence at the international event.

The ensemble featured an ivory-toned corset-style bodice paired with a flowing drape inspired by traditional Indian sarees. Bhatt completed the look with subtle styling and was also seen carrying an umbrella while walking towards the venue. Bharat Pavilion Hosts IFFI 2026 Poster Launch

Apart from her red carpet appearances, Bhatt also participated in an important cinematic event at the Bharat Pavilion. She joined filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker to unveil the official poster and creative concept for the International Film Festival of India.

The event also marked the launch of the India Film Guide, an initiative aimed at promoting India as a major destination for international film shoots and encouraging collaborations between global filmmakers and the Indian film industry. Hosted by the National Film Development Corporation, the Bharat Pavilion continues to serve as a significant platform for showcasing India’s cinema, talent and production capabilities at global film festivals.

Alia Bhatt Speaks About Indian Storytelling

During her address at the pavilion, Bhatt spoke about the diversity and emotional depth of Indian cinema. She said the film festival has consistently celebrated unique voices and stories from across the country. According to the actor, being part of the unveiling ceremony was an honour as India prepares to welcome filmmakers and audiences to Goa later this year.

Gowariker also highlighted the global importance of the upcoming edition of IFFI. He stated that the festival aims to present films that combine technical excellence with meaningful storytelling and emotional impact.

IFFI 2026 to Be Held in Goa

The 57th edition of IFFI is scheduled to take place in Panaji from November 20 to 28, 2026. The newly launched artwork for the festival features a stylised peacock, continuing the visual identity traditionally associated with IFFI over the years.

Earlier during Cannes, Alia Bhatt had also appeared on the red carpet in a peach gown with a plunging neckline, paired with a rare coral necklace. Her appearances at the festival have generated strong reactions online and further strengthened her global presence as an actor representing Indian cinema on an international stage.
