‘Coolie’ surpasses Rs 300 crore mark; Leads over ‘War 2’ on day 3

Hyderabad: The Bollywood hit 'War 2' starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR and Rajinikanth's action movie 'Coolie' are engaged in a fierce box office battle. Although both movies are doing well 'Coolie' is currently ahead of 'War 2' after three days.

Nevertheless Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' has continued to lead 'War 2'. Day 3 of the War 2 Box Office Collection. The pre-Independence Day holiday was buzzing with talk about 'War 2'. The movie made Rs 52 crore on its first day of release according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The movie made Rs 57.35 crore in all Indian languages on Friday a rise in earnings.

However the collections fell precipitously to Rs 33.25 crore on the third day (Janmashtami). In just three days War 2 has earned Rs 142.06 crore domestically. The movie made about Rs 215 crore worldwide during that time.

Collections are predicted to increase over the weekend despite the decline on Day 3. Day 3 Box Office Collection for Coolie. According to Sacnilk Rajinikanths Coolie had a sizable fan base which contributed to the movies historic Rs 65 crore opening day. The movie made Rs 54.75 crore on Day 2 a 15.77 percent decrease in revenue.

The Coolie Crosses mark is Rs 300. In just three days Coolie became the fastest Tamil film to reach the ₹300 crore mark globally according to trade analyst Sumit Kadel. It has made between 320 and 325 crores worldwide.

The movie is already a box office success and is expected to become even more so. Whether Coolie can overtake 2.0 and become the highest-grossing Tamil film ever will be interesting to watch. Given the continued popularity of both movies this box office battle is one to keep an eye on in the days ahead.
