Two shades of a legendary superstar
Chennai: While the Nation is celebrating the 79th Independence Day today on 15 August, the film world and millions and millions of audience are also commemorating the 50 years of legendry Tamil superstar Rajinikanth in the world of 'light, camera, action'. And even at 74 today, Rajnikanth has still many miles to go, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
It was 50 years ago on 15 August 1975 that a 24-year old Shivaji Rao Gaekwad debuted in the 1975 K Balachander film Apoorva Raagangal in a Madras (now Chennai) studio. It was a brief role and at that time absolutely nobody could even imagine that this young bus conductor would soon be known as Rajinikanth--the Superstar.
It is no secret that once Ranjinikanth worked as a coolie, and even a bus conductor before making it in films.
The legendry superstar is a phenomenon - a real phenomenon. A number of Temples are built for him where he is worshipped by his fans. During his film promotions his images are carried on airplanes. Not only in India but in a number of other countries also this passion for Rajinikanth can widely be seen.
