Thamma already crosses Rs 100 crore at the domestic box office in eight days.
Mumbai: Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest film Thamma continues its dream run at the box office. The horror-comedy, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, has entered the Rs 100-crore club in just eight days of its theatrical release. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced under the Maddock Films banner, the movie collected Rs 5.5 crore on Day 8, taking its total domestic earnings to Rs 101.1 crore, as per early trade estimates.
Thamma marks Ayushmann’s strongest opening to date and a significant milestone in his career. Sharing his excitement, the actor told ANI, “Validation by the public is the biggest validation. For me, this is the biggest opening of my career and hopefully my biggest film as well.”
Released on October 21, the film maintained a steady hold through its first week. On Tuesday, it registered an overall 18.53% Hindi occupancy, with the highest turnout recorded during the evening and night shows.
Thamma is the fifth installment in Maddock Films’ Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), following Stree, Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya. The film introduces a fresh supernatural twist, with Ayushmann playing Alok Goyal, an ordinary man who turns into a vampire. Rashmika Mandanna stars as Tadaka, his love interest, adding a layer of romance to the eerie storyline.
The film’s blend of humor, horror, and emotional drama has resonated strongly with younger audiences, helping it sustain momentum at the box office even after its opening weekend.

Known for his relatable, “boy-next-door” characters, Ayushmann took on Thamma to explore a darker, more experimental role. Speaking about the shift, he said, “In this film, my character transitions from an ordinary guy to someone with supernatural powers. It’s the first time I’ve done something like this, and I was excited to be part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.”
The film collected Rs 5.5 crore on Day 8, taking its total to Rs 101.1 crore.
Apart from Ayushmann and Rashmika, the film features Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshasan, Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal, Geeta Agarwal Sharma as Sudha Goyal, and Faisal Malik as Inspector PK Yadav. Their performances have added depth and humor to the supernatural storyline.
Ayushmann Khurrana is set for a busy lineup ahead. His upcoming projects include a Sooraj Barjatya-directed film, a Dharma Productions venture, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do (2026), and an untitled spy comedy with Sara Ali Khan.
Rashmika Mandanna, who impressed audiences with Goodbye (2022), Mission Majnu (2023), and Animal (2023), will next be seen in Chhaava (2025).
With Thamma surpassing the Rs 100-crore milestone in just over a week, the film not only cements Ayushmann Khurrana’s place among Bollywood’s top crowd-pullers but also strengthens the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe as a leading cinematic franchise.
