New Delhi: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Priya Ahuja Rajda, popular for her role as Rita Reporter, has achieved a remarkable milestone by entering both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records. At the age of 40, she performed a weighted plank carrying 75 kilos for 42.48 seconds, earning recognition for the highest weighted plank by a woman. Her achievement marks a rare blend of strength, discipline and determination, especially at a stage of life when many women feel pressured to slow down.
Priya revealed that her journey toward the record began as an experiment. Initially, she explored the idea of attempting records in push ups and pull ups. However, as she continued training, she quickly realised that weighted planks were where she excelled naturally. Within a week, her progress shocked even her trainer as she increased her plank weight from 20 kilos to 60 kilos.
When her trainer returned and learned of her rapid improvement, he encouraged her to push further. After assessing her confidence and strength levels, they jointly decided to target 75 kilos for the official attempt. Her unwavering commitment paid off and the result was a record setting performance that has put her firmly in the spotlight.

Priya shared that she wanted to do something meaningful for herself before crossing the age of 40. She explained that there is a widespread perception that after becoming a mother or entering their forties, women no longer have the time or ability to prioritise personal ambitions. This belief pushed her to take on a challenge that would not only test her limits but also redefine what women are capable of, regardless of age or responsibility.
She emphasised that motherhood and age should never be viewed as barriers. Instead, they should motivate women to care for themselves even more, allowing them to thrive in every aspect of life.

Speaking about her daily routine, Priya described how she starts her mornings at 4 am. This early window is dedicated to meditation, prayer and intense workouts, a combination that she believes keeps her focused and centred. According to her, maintaining personal happiness and mental balance is essential. She explained that if her own cup is empty, she cannot fill her child’s life with positivity and love.
Priya did not hesitate to credit her husband Malav and her family for their constant support. She shared that her record would not have been possible without Malav taking responsibility for their son Ardas in the mornings, giving her uninterrupted time to train.
Priya’s message to women everywhere is clear and powerful. She believes age is only a number and that women should not allow societal expectations to limit their dreams. She encourages women to love themselves, stay physically and mentally fit and pursue opportunities that bring fulfilment and confidence.
She views her record not as a peak but as the beginning of a larger fitness journey. With renewed enthusiasm, Priya said she has many goals ahead and is determined to achieve every one of them.
