Chennai: Robo Shankar, a renowned comedy actor from the Tamil television and film industry, has passed away suddenly at the age of 46. The news of his death has sent shockwaves through the film industry, his family, and fans.
Some initially reported that he was suffering from complications following jaundice, while others said he collapsed during filming and suffered a heart attack. However, according to a medical report from GEM Hospital, a private hospital in Chennai, Robo Shankar suffered gastrointestinal bleeding and multi-organ failure.

He was immediately admitted to the hospital on September 16, 2025, after collapsing during filming. The hospital bulletin stated that he was admitted in critical condition due to a complicated stomach ailment. He was kept under constant medical supervision in the ICU (Critical Care Unit), and every effort was made to improve his condition.
However, his condition continued to deteriorate, and despite all efforts, he was declared dead at 9:05 pm on September 18, 2025. The hospital said in a statement, "Despite the efforts of our expert team, his condition did not improve, and he passed away."
