Dhaka: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is in trouble once again.
Sheikh Hasina was sentenced to six months in jail on Wednesday in a contempt of court case of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).
The verdict was issued by a three-member bench of the International Crimes Tribunal-1. The bench was headed by Chairman Justice Mohammad Ghulam Murtuza Mozumdar.
First time sentence was given in a case
In the same verdict, the tribunal also sentenced Shakeel Akand Bulbul, a resident of Govindganj in Gaibandha, to two months in jail.
This is the first time the ousted Awami League leader has been sentenced in a case after leaving office 11 months ago and fleeing the country.
