Beijing: A train collided with a group of railway workers during a test run in China's Yunnan Province on Thursday morning. Eleven people were killed and two injured. The accident occurred near Luoyangzhen Railway Station in Kunming City.

Details of the Train and the Test

According to media reports, train number 55537 was on a test run and was testing seismic equipment when it collided with workers on the railway track. The workers were working on a curve at the time.

Immediate Relief and Response

Immediately after the incident, the railway and local authorities launched an emergency rescue operation. Condolences were expressed to the victims and their families. An investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched.

China's state-run TV channel CCTV confirmed the accident. Officials said the test train was running to test seismic equipment. The accident has raised concerns in Yunnan province and across the country.
