‘Iran Does Not Control The Strait of Hormuz’: US Attacks on Chabahar Port, Surveillance Tower Collapsed

The United State has launched a fresh strike on Chabahar port of Iran which is supported and funded by India. US defence secretary Pete Hegseth stated that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz

Tehran: Chabahar port of Iran has been damaged by the US strikes, as per recent reports, a surveillance tower at the Chabahar port on the Gulf of Oman has collapsed. The Chabahar port is the key trade route for Afghanistan, which Iran had been running with India’s support and India.

The visuals portray damage to the Chabahar tower were shared on social media and later, US defence secretary Pete Hegseth also shared the image which portrays a tower-like structure collapsing as clouds of dust and smoke rise around it.

Pete Hegseth further tweeted that “Iran does not control the SoH” (Strait of Hormuz)

The recent reports suggest that the United States has targeted the Chabahar port in its strikes against Iran. The Iranian media has confirmed a third round of strikes on the port from the US. However, initially the media and authority did not acknowledge the strikes.

Eight people has been assassinated in the overnight US strikes on Iran and 20 people has been injured.

On 17th July 2026, the US stated that its forces launched strikes on Iran for a sixth night in a row. The strikes started at 6PM GMT and it was carried out to “further degrade Iranian military capabilities”

The IRNA news agency said that "Some infrastructure in several provinces of the country came under US military attack,"

The death count in Iran has marked 38 since fresh strikes post peace deal signed by Iran and US in Pakistan while 400 have been reported injured as per health ministry of Iran.

Meanwhile, IRGC claimed that they had “targeted and destroyed” two radar sites belonging to the US in Oman. Out of two radar destroyed by IRGC one was used for maritime surveillance and other was used for air surveillance.

Iran has also attacked on US military infrastructure in Kuwait, whereas attacks on Bahrain and Qatar were reported on early Friday
