Tehran: Iran’s military has announced that it is reimposing restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz, accusing the United States of “repeated breaches of trust.”

The move follows escalating tensions between the two countries over naval activity in the strategic waterway.

Earlier, a senior Iranian parliamentary official warned that the strait could be closed again if the United States does not lift what Iran describes as a naval blockade.

At the same time, diplomatic efforts appear to be continuing. US and Iranian delegations are expected to meet on Monday for a new round of negotiations aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.

However, US officials have not confirmed that the talks will take place. Former President Donald Trump has also stated that he may choose not to extend the ceasefire if the discussions fail to produce results.

In a separate development in the region, Israel is reportedly preparing to enforce a so-called “yellow line” in Lebanon-similar to measures used in Gaza-which would prevent displaced residents from returning to 55 villages currently under Israeli military control. The decision comes as some residents had begun moving back following the announcement of a ceasefire.
